But first... lets hear what some of our wonderful girls think
Maisie
Nursery Practitioner
"Working at First Steps for the last 3 years has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The team is supportive and truly passionate about the children and the environment. I’ve learned so much about early childhood development, as I completed my apprenticeship here, and feel inspired every day by the creativity and care that goes into shaping young minds. I’m grateful to be part of such a dedicated team and excited to be a part of such a wonderful nursery."

Ellie
Third in charge
"I have had the pleasure of working at First Steps for around six years now, and I still remember my first week here. I felt so welcomed and supported by Emma, Rebecca, and the entire team. The positive, warm atmosphere made me feel right at home.
The children were always so happy, and it was clear that they had a wide range of amazing activities throughout the day, with plenty of resources to stimulate their creativity and learning.
Over the years, I have gained so much knowledge and experience, working my way up from an apprentice to now being third in charge.
Throughout my time here, I have built strong friendships with my colleagues, and I’ve formed special bonds with the children and their families. Being a part of their growth and development has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my job. Watching the children learn, grow, and reach new milestones is something truly special.
First Steps has not only been a place where I have developed professionally, but also where I have created lasting memories with wonderful people. I am so grateful for the opportunities I’ve had here and for the chance to contribute to the lives of the children and families we care for.
Emma and Rebecca are always thinking of new ways to improve the nursery and ensure the best experience for the children, parents, and staff.
One of the highlights for the staff is their commitment to wellbeing. They will host either Wellbeing Wednesdays or Feel Good Fridays, which allow us to take a break and focus on our own self-care. They also celebrate staff achievements with the "Employee of the Month" award, where the winner is recognised for going above and beyond and are treated, showing how much they appreciate the hard work we all put in."

Emma
Room Leader
"Working at First Steps Day Care for over six years has truly been a rewarding experience. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of our little ones, and for the relationships I’ve built with my managers, colleagues, parents, and, of course, the children.
Throughout my time here, I have grown both personally and professionally. I started as a nursery practitioner, and over the years, I have had the privilege of progressing to the role of Room Leader for the Mini Monkeys room. In this position, I am able to share my passion for early childhood development by creating exciting, educational activities that allow our children to explore, learn, and grow in a fun and engaging environment.
Every day is a new opportunity to make a difference, and it is so rewarding to watch the children grow up and their little personalities shine through. I look forward to continuing this journey, building more relationships, and contributing to the development of our little learners."

Abbey
SENCO
"I have had the privilege of working at First Steps Daycare for around four years now, and it has been an incredible experience. Every day, I am fortunate enough to witness the growth, development, and pure joy of the children in our care, which is deeply rewarding.
As a member of the Pre-School team, it’s truly heartwarming to see the nurturing environment that we, as staff, have created to ensure the children are happy, engaged, and stimulated throughout the day. The care and attention we put into each activity and lesson are evident in the children’s eagerness to learn and explore.
We work closely as a team to ensure that each child’s individual needs are met, and their potential is recognised and encouraged. It’s an honour to be part of a supportive, passionate team that is committed to making a positive impact on the children’s lives."
