About Us
First Steps Day Care is privately owned and managed by Emma Shaw & Rebecca Stephenson. Between Emma & Rebecca they have over 18 years’ experience in child care.
We offer a wide variety of sessions to suit individual needs. We understand that many parents/carers work various shifts so we pride ourselves on being flexible. Please contact us regarding your requirements and we will do our best to accommodate them.
We offer;
Full day sessions 7.30am - 6.00pm
Half day sessions 7:30am - 1.00pm/ 1.00pm - 6.00pm
Play Group sessions 9.00am-11:30am/12:30pm-3.00pm
9-3 Session 9.00am-3.00pm
Before School Session 8.00am - School
After School Session After school - 6.00pm
You can also create your own session, please speak to a member of the team for more details.
The Nursery itself is set up to put the children’s welfare first and to OFSTED’s Specification. The building is set up on two floors with 0-2 years on the ground floor and 3+ years on the top floor. The nursery operates under the guidance of the Early Years Foundation Stage and are registered and inspected by Ofsted.
We offer 10% discount for the eldest child.
After joining with us you are entitled to 3 x FREE settling in sessions. (1 hour sessions to help your child settle and get used to their surroundings.
We offer two weeks holidays at half fees in accordance to your child's sessions.
On Tuesday's we have Signing Tots, Dawn visits the nursery to sing songs and teaches the children Basic British Sign Language.
On Wednesday's we have Kismet Kids Yoga. Yoga helps the children to improve their balance, strength, endurance, and aerobic capacity. It can also offer psychological benefits for the children.
On Thursday's we have Rhythm Time where the children explore with music, instruments and sensory equipment.
